CNS News: Sen. Daines: Trump Has Constitutional Authority to Enforce Immigration Laws

When it comes to the Constitution and illegal immigration into this country, Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.) said President Donald Trump has the constitutional authority “to enforce the law.” Daines added that he is “very concerned” about the “radical leftists” in the House of Representatives.

At the U.S. Capitol on July 16, CNSNews.com asked Sen. Daines, “Article 2 section 3 of the Constitution says that the president must make sure that laws are faithfully enforced. Do you believe that the president has the constitutional responsibility to enforce immigration laws?”

Breitbart: Steve Daines: Montanans Sick of ‘Anti=American,’ ‘Radical’ Democrats Trashing America

President Donald Trump taunted the “squad” of far-left first term progressive Democrats on Sunday, telling them to go back and fix the places they came from before telling the rest of the country what to do.

Trump’s tweets Sunday appeared to reference Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

Trump’s tweet pushed Democrats such as Reps. Omar and Ocasio-Cortez to quickly attack the president, claiming that he was “stoking white nationalism.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she will hold a vote condemning Trump’s “disgraceful language.”

Sen. Daines, who is up for reelection in 2020, came to President Trump’s defense, charging that Montanans “are sick and tired” of “anti-American” progressive Democrats trashing America.

“Montanans are sick and tired of listening to anti-American, anti-Semite, radical Democrats trash our country and our ideals. This is America,” the Montana conservative added. “We’re the greatest country in the world.”

KRTV: Trump, Daines press for improved forest management to prevent wildfires

President Donald Trump is pushing better forest management as a big part of his plan to stop the number of large wildfires that have caused devastation in the western United States in recent years.

In a speech at the White House this past week, the president touted an executive order signed last December promoting more active forest management.

“You can’t have dirty floors. You can’t have fallen trees. After the first 17 months, they say a tree is like a piece of tinder,” said Trump, a Republican.

Wildfires have gotten worse in recent years — burning up a large part of the U.S. Forest Service’s budget in the process.

“The process of cleaning is now really taking precedent. A lot of people are looking at forest management. It’s a word that people didn’t really understand last year, and now they are getting it, and you don’t have to have any forest fires,” Trump said.

Montana Republican U.S. Sen. Steve Daines was at the White House and agreed with the president.

KRTV: Daines visits Anaconda Job Corps open house

According to U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, this year’s open house at the Anaconda Job Corps Center was anything but routine.

While the Anaconda Job Corps’ open house is an annual event, Tuesday’s had a special feel to it.

Last May, the career-training program was set to be closed, and some Job Corps participants heard the news before going off on training.

“We wound up hearing about how the center was closing before we left,” said Job Corps participant Dylan Kurz.

An outcry from the community and work from U.S. Sens. Steve Daines and Jon Tester helped reverse that decision, and the center will remain open. Participants are celebrating the good news.

“It’s definitely a good program for people trying to find themselves […] if college isn’t best for them or they want to get out and work and find new things about themselves, we’ve got trades here,” Job Corps participant Caleb Ocken told MTN News.
